The British Federation of Racial Equality Councils was formed in 2002. It is the body that represents Racial Equality Councils in England Scotland and Wales . It's aim is to fairly represent the RECs in policy development with the CRE and government departments. To be the voice of RECs when it needs to respond to events or activities relating to Race. It aims to be a support for RECs and to provide training for capacity building, and to assist in setting up regional networks.
There is a conference being held on 17 th & 18 th June at Manchester Conference Centre "Building Bridges". Fiona McTaggart will be in attendance (Minister at the Home Office since June 2003, responsibilities are race equality, community policy and civil renewal).
